Description
About NORY: NORY is the premier STEM camp provider in NYC and Boston, enriching the learning journey of 4000+ children annually through immersive and hands-on learning experiences. We nurture purposeful problem solvers by helping 3-12-year-old children cultivate resilience, inquisitiveness, and empathy. Discover our vibrant camp atmosphere: bit.ly/noryi Watch our Summer Camp Video: bit.ly/noryvideo1 The Role: We are looking for a prolific and talented Social Media Manager to take ownership of NORY’s Instagram presence. What we do is incredibly fun - we help young children create robotic inventions that in turn help the people around them. Project prototypes, thought-provoking discussions, and children’s big silly smiles provide endless content to share with the world. You will act as the primary storyteller for our brand, capturing meaningful moments through video and imagery to pinpoint our key values and connect them with parents and teachers. Key Responsibilities: Instagram Strategy & Growth: Develop and manage a structured Instagram content calendar. Grow followers and engagement intentionally (focusing on impact and community, not just vanity metrics). Maintain strong brand consistency and tone. Video-First Content Creation (Primary Focus): Create engaging Reels that showcase camp projects and joyful moments. Edit short-form videos optimized for reach and retention. Capture both the emotional energy and the educational depth of our programs. Visual & Written Storytelling: Write captions that connect our core values (resilience, inquisitiveness, empathy) to what parents care about. Design simple, clean graphics when needed. Turn curriculum themes into compelling weekly narratives. Performance Tracking: Track engagement metrics and growth trends. Identify what content drives saves, shares, and inquiries. Adjust strategy continuously based on data. Qualifications: Proven track record of managing and growing Instagram accounts, ideally within the parenting, education, or family-focused space. Strong portfolio showcasing expert-level video creation (specifically Reels/short-form editing), graphic design, and copywriting. Exceptional written communication with a personable, engaging storytelling style. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and pivot strategies. An entrepreneurial builder who thrives in a fast-paced environment and doesn't take "no" for an answer. Details: Rate: $20-$40 per hour, based on experience and portfolio strength. Commitment: 10-20 hours per week, offering flexibility to fit your schedule. Location: Remote (Candidates who can visit our NYC campsites to capture content during camp season are preferred) How to Apply: If you believe you're the perfect candidate for this position, please email your resume and portfolio that includes the following to peter@nory.co: Instagram handles you have actively managed (or direct links to specific postings/Reels you created). Key metrics outlining your past social media achievements (e.g., account growth, engagement rate increases, successful campaigns). NORY, Inc. is an equal-opportunity employer, committed to a diverse, inclusive, and compassionate team.
Responsibilities
The manager will develop and execute the Instagram strategy, focusing on intentional growth and maintaining brand consistency across all content. Primary focus involves creating engaging, video-first content, especially Reels, that captures the emotional energy and educational depth of the STEM camp programs.
