About You
Are you a hands-on social media strategist with a passion for storytelling and audience engagement? RMIT is seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager to lead our global social media presence across organic and paid channels. You’ll manage a small team of four, drive performance across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook—and ideally WeChat, Weibo, and Little Red Book—and play a key role in enhancing brand visibility, supporting student recruitment and alumni engagement
The role provides strategic input into campaign development, oversees the delivery of social media activities across always-on and time-bound initiatives, and supports the amplification of key university events such as Open Day and global recruitment

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Proven experience developing and executing and delivering engagement goals for integrated social media strategies across paid and organic channels.
  • Broad knowledge of social media platforms and audience behaviours.
  • Desirable (but not essential) experience with China-specific platforms such as WeChat, Weibo, and Little Red Book.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring a small team based in Australia and offshore.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to content creation, campaign execution, and performance optimisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
