Role: Social Media Marketing Assistant
Time Commitment: 10–15 hrs/week
Location: Hybrid (75% remote, 25% in-person, Greater Toronto Area)

Maison Minimalist (www.maison-minimalist.com) is a Toronto-based small business in the beauty organization and lifestyle space. We’re a direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce brand with a mission to elevate beauty routines through thoughtfully designed makeup bags, jewelry cases, and beauty organizers — perfect for daily use and travel.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We’re looking for a creative self-starter who loves being in front of the camera and knows how to make content that connects. You thrive on creating social-first video content, from scripting and filming to editing and posting. You understand what makes content viral — hooks, storytelling, pacing, and strong CTAs — and you’re eager to experiment, iterate, and grow with us.
You’ll work closely with the founder and our marketing manager, both virtually and in-person in the GTA. You’re energized by startup life — ready to wear many hats, take initiative, and contribute beyond your title.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Based in Toronto (must be available for in-person sessions for filming/content creation and meetings in the Greater Toronto Area)
  • 2–3 years of content creation and digital marketing experience
  • Comfortable on-camera with a natural, engaging presence
  • Strong portfolio showcasing social-first video content and storytelling skills
  • Advanced video editing skills (CapCut preferred; Premiere Pro/Final Cut welcome)
  • Advanced social media graphics design skills (Canva preferred; Figma/Photoshop welcome)
  • Deep understanding of social media trends, creating and writing viral hooks, story writing and scripting, strategies for virality, and strong CTA
  • Strong understanding of social media KPIs/analytics and how to interpret and drive value from the metrics
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage timelines and work independently
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Notion is an asset
  • Flexible schedule, occasional evenings/weekends may sometimes be required

Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, script, film, and edit engaging video content for social media (TikTok, Instagram, paid ads, launches)
  • Be comfortable and confident on-camera, representing our brand in a professional but fun way
  • Use CapCut to edit videos and Canva to design eye-catching graphics
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on social strategies, trends, and campaign ideas
  • Help manage content calendar, schedule content on our platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, YT Shorts, etc.), and write optimized captions with creative copy
  • Analyze, monitor and summarize our performance metrics, moderate our community engagement and audience feedback to refine content
