We are a locally focused charity with over 100 staff and volunteers across Birmingham and Sandwell. We provide services and support to people aged 50+, enabling, empowering, and encouraging them to enrich their lives and live independently. We are looking to grow and expand to reach more older people in Birmingham and surrounding areas.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a forward thinking, energetic role for someone passionate about delivering high-quality service to older people. We’re looking for a creative and strategic Social Media and Marketing Officer to join our passionate team. As a Social Media and Marketing Officer, you will be responsible for creating, curating, and managing content across digital platforms to increase awareness, drive engagement, and support our goals. You will play a key role in shaping our online voice and building a strong digital presence.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a creative and strategic Social Media and Marketing Officer to help grow our digital presence, increase public engagement, and support our fundraising and campaign efforts. This role will lead on day-to-day content creation and execution across all digital platforms, and contribute to wider marketing strategies for the organisation as a whole.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Social Media Management:

  • Plan, create, and schedule compelling content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok)
  • Monitor social channels and engage with followers to foster and grow the supporters
  • Track performance metrics and adjust strategies based on data to increase the impact of the organisation’s online presence
  • Develop social media campaigns to support key charity events, appeals, and awareness days to maximise the organisations reach and impact 4 Marketing support:
  • Support the development and implementation of marketing campaigns
  • Create digital and print marketing materials (posters, flyers, donor packs) as required
  • Collaborate with fundraising and project teams to amplify impact stories
  • Draft newsletters and email marketing campaigns and distribute using platforms like Mailchimp Brand and Storytelling:
  • Ensure brand consistency across all external communication
  • Source, write, and share inspiring case studies, testimonials, and impact stories
  • Capture and edit photos or videos from events or beneficiary interviews when needed
  • Support the production of the annual impact report
