POSITION SUMMARY:

The Public Relations Assistant provides direct support to the Public Relations Officer in planning, promoting, and covering district-wide events and initiatives. This role includes assisting with photography, communications, website updates, and community outreach across all high school campuses. The Public Relations Assistant will also serve as the district receptionist when needed—answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries—while continuing to support PR responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in communications, public relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Photoshop, website content management systems (CMS), and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with photography, basic graphic design, or content creation is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working at school sites and events with students and staff of all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Create and publish a monthly district newsletter.

  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while serving as a representative of the district office.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
