Maintains knowledge of community resources, regulatory requirements, and third-party payer programs, while facilitating care conferences, developing resident care plans, and providing education on resident rights, psychosocial needs, and related topics. Must be able to work in collaboration with others.  Is knowledgeable about Medicare and other third-party payors.  Requires good communication and human relation skills, strong problem-solving skills are necessary with the ability to collect, compare, sort and prioritize information to be used in the decision-making process.  Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations.
