We are looking for a Social Studies Teacher for an international school based in Chongqing. This position is available from the upcoming 2026-27 academic year starting in August 2026. The school provides a continuous pathway from early years through high school, with a strong focus on academic development, student wellbeing, and preparation for future study abroad. Job details Teach Social Studies-related subjects to high school students, including areas such as American Government, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, History, and Geography Prepare lesson plans and deliver engaging lessons aligned with American curriculum standards Use a range of teaching methods and resources to support different learning needs Assess students’ progress, grade assignments, and provide clear feedback to students and parents Support students who need additional help and provide extension activities for higher-achieving learners Prepare students for tests, exams, presentations, projects, and other assessments Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Attend staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops, and other school activities as required Supervise students during classes, school events, and field trips Monitor students’ wellbeing and work with the school counselor or relevant staff when needed Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant subject area Valid teaching license or certification Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably at middle or high school level Experience with US Common Core or an American curriculum preferred AP teaching experience or certification preferred Competitive monthly salary commensurate with experience and qualifications Flight allowance provided Medical insurance provided Paid summer and winter holidays Public holidays Work visa support Professional development opportunities
