Royal North Shore Hospital Social Work Department is seeking a full time permament Bereavement Coordinator and Counsellor to join the committed team at Northern Sydney Local Health District. You will be working alongside Bereavement Counsellors from both Hammond Care and NSLHD facilties to ensure the delivery of quality, client focused bereavement services to the community.

The Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Bereavement Coordinator / Counsellor will be responsible for delivering specialist bereavement counselling, coordinating the NSLHD Bereavement Service and overseeing the consistent delivery and embedding of a public health model of care across NSLHD. The Bereavement Coordinator / Counsellor will work with NSLHD services (including HammondCare) to enhance bereavement support across NSLHD.
The Bereavement Coordinator/Counsellor is also responsible for providing support to family members and carers of deceased patients within the NSLHD. The position will offer consultation and education to multidisciplinary staff within the NSLHD, as well as to the wider community. Service planning, participation in policy and service development, and liaison with internal and external stakeholders are key components of this role.
