Hours: 37 hours per week.
Contract: Permanent

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Cumberland Council is looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join our Children and Families Service. In this vital role, you’ll work directly with children, young people, and their families to assess needs, develop outcome-focused plans, and ensure the right support is in place. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi-agency team, using your professional expertise to improve lives and promote the voice of the child in all aspects of care planning.
We’re looking for someone with a Social Work degree (or equivalent), Social Work England registration, and experience working with children and families. You’ll need strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and a commitment to anti-oppressive practice. In return, we offer flexible working, ongoing professional development, and the chance to be part of a supportive team making a real impact across the community.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
Cumberland Council is proud to hold an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ for our Children’s Services, demonstrating our dedication and strong commitment to providing high-quality services for children and families. Ofsted recognised that staff unanimously report a ‘real buzz about working in Cumberland’ and that they feel ‘energised, valued and listened to’, observing that ‘leaders have established a strong Cumberland identity that staff can be proud of’.
