The position requires the use of high order knowledge, clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to assess and support clients and/or to coach, mentor, orientate and provide education to an assigned team in Women's and Children. Drawing on standards of practice for case management; professional codes of ethics; social work standards of practice in health care; program policy and procedures; and, relevant legislation, the senior social worker provides high quality client service and maintains professional standards of practice. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Knowledge and Abilities Ability to be self directed and work relatively independently Knowledge of how to coach for performance , assign work to staff and resolve conflict between team members. Professional maturity and leadership in clinical area , with peers, multidisciplinary team, and stakeholder group across the continuum of care. Demonstrated approaches to problem solving w/strong decision-making capability Advanced clinical skills/knowledge/abilities for competent social work practice Skill in complex decision-making and problem solving ability through application of knowledge, critical thinking and sound clinical, legal and ethical judgment.
