Social Work - Adults
East Sussex is a fantastic place to live and work, with its rolling hills and countryside, and green walks to small coastal towns. We are looking for exceptional Social Worker to join the Adult Social Care - Continuing Healthcare Team.
The Continuing Healthcare Team work in partnership with Health to assess Adults with complex and end of life care needs. Our role is to undertake multi-disciplinary assessments working with our local Integrated Commissioning Boards (ICB’s) to ensure people we serve get access to continuing care funding.
To carry out the role you will need a detailed knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005), the Mental Health Act(1983), Equalities legislation and the Deprivation of Liberty safeguards. You must be able to implement this legislation in your daily practice. You will also be expected to carry out the County’s section (42) safeguarding duties to protect and mitigate risks to the clients we serve. You will be expected to assess clients in line with our other statutory duties such as section (9) assessment under the Care Act (2014), using a strength based, outcome focus approach. Experience of court of protection work would be an advantage in this role, however training is offered to successful candidates.
In return for your excellent skills and expertise, East Sussex County Council offers extensive training and career development; you will be supported by monthly individual supervision where you can develop your continuous professional development (CPD) via monitoring your work against the Professional Capability Framework and Knowledge and Skills Statement aligned with your level of experience. You will have the opportunity to engage in monthly reflective supervision with your peers to add towards your registration requirements.
