Description

At Staffscanner, we’re building something a little different. Thoughtfully matched, fully supported.
We’re founded by care providers, built with people at heart, and powered by smart technology. That means we understand the pressures, priorities, and purpose behind your work — and we’ve designed a service that reflects that.
What makes Staffscanner different:
Led by lived experience – our roots are in social care.
Faster, smarter matching – our tech connects you with the right roles instantly.
Training that fits you – free CPD-accredited courses, online and flexible.
Ongoing support – from registration through to your first day and beyond.
Transparency and trust – simple processes, honest conversations.
About the role:
we’re working with Flintshire County Council to find social workers to join their Family Intervention Team (FIT) in Children’s Services.
As part of the FIT team, you’ll play a key role in supporting vulnerable children, young people, and families across Flintshire. This is a frontline role that demands a strong safeguarding focus, relationship-based practice, and the confidence to manage risk in a dynamic, multi-agency setting.
You’ll manage your own caseload and contribute to effective interventions that reduce risk and improve outcomes — while working closely with other professionals, attending case conferences, and, where necessary, providing evidence in court.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social work support and case management for children and families
  • Identify and assess risk of harm, abuse, or neglect and act accordingly
  • Undertake child protection work and contribute to safeguarding strategy meetings
  • Deliver outcome-focused plans based on assessments of need
  • Attend and lead child protection meetings, planning meetings, and reviews
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-agency teams and represent the service in key forums
  • Communicate with children, families, and carers to promote engagement and informed decision-making
  • Uphold values of equity, inclusion, and anti-discriminatory practice
  • Ensure adherence to legal frameworks, policies, and departmental procedures

What You’ll Need:

  • Qualified Social Worker (degree or equivalent)
  • Registered with Social Care Wales or eligible to register
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s statutory services
  • Strong understanding of child protection, care planning, and relevant legislation
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with families, while managing challenging circumstances
  • Enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK

Why Apply Through Staffscanner?

  • Weekly pay at competitive, transparent rates
  • CPD and candidate support from people who understand social care
