Our dedicated faculty are committed to providing an outstanding education for students each day as they transition from elementary school to middle school to high school and COLLEGE. Through our partnership with local colleges and universities, our students will be able to take dual credit courses on the college campus to earn college and career credits at no cost to the student. Our curriculum and our teaching methods are designed using Core Knowledge, Teach Like a Champion and blended learning model. REPORTS TO/TERM: Director of Social Emotional Department This is a 10-month position. Essential Key Functions: A Social Worker performs the following duties: Collaborate with Principals, Dean of Students, High School Counselor, SPED, Nurse and School Leadership Team to provide Social Services to students Collaborate on Behavior Intervention Plans Train school staff in drug, violence, trafficking, and trauma responsive practices Implement drug and violence prevention programs Maintain case files and report to track student progress and problems Collaborate on functional behavior assessments Assist in conducting threat assessments Educate students and school staff about bullying and harassment prevention Implement programs that support dropout prevention and re-entry Implement child sexual abuse awareness and prevention programs Provide social emotional learning regarding interventions that build resilience, self -control, empathy, persistence, and other social and behavioral skills Provide individual and group counseling to students Attend IEP conferences as necessary Attend all required staff meetings Work as a team member Behavior Intervention Suggestions Follow all school policies Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s Degree in School Social Work Valid Indiana Social Worker License 3-5 years’ experience in an urban school environment
