QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. A current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and/or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
  2. Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Mental Health or other related health field.
  3. Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Psychotherapist / MSW / Therapist.
    OR
  4. A current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and/or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
  5. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Mental Health or other related health field.
  6. Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Psychotherapist / BSW / Therapist.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with clients, parents, and professional staff as evidenced by:
  • concisely written clinical reports
  • detailed treatment programs, and
  • effective verbal presentations to the relevant community, peer group and service consumers.
  • The ability to provide therapeutic interventions with individuals, groups, and family systems.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of therapeutic treatment options as well as the skill and ability to provide such treatment to people of all ages with mental health issues.
  • Competency in gathering information from diverse sources and making useful application to intervention efforts.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Contributes to the culture, professionalism, and identity of the agency in a positive manner.
  • The ability to be responsive to identified needs, gaps in service and add innovative thinking to the delivery of children and youth mental health services.
  • Working knowledge of the different referral agencies/services available within the SCCYS catchment area.
  • Adherence to a professional code of ethics.
  • Working knowledge of the legislation governing the practice of mental health treatment.

    SALARY: $35.88 - $42.61 per hour
    LOCATION: 190 Front St. N Kendall Street, Sarnia, N7T 5S3
    SHIFT: 35 hours per week
    CONTRACT START: September 15, 2025
    CONTRACT END: September 11, 2026
    CONTRACT CONDITIONS: This contract may be terminated with two (2) weeks’ notice
