Be part of a brand-new Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) Support young people to achieve recovery, independence and wellbeing   About the role An exciting opportunity exists for a Social Worker to join Barwon Health's newly established Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) service. This innovative 10-bed residential program provides recovery-oriented, trauma-informed mental health support for young people aged 16–25 years who require an alternative to hospital admission or a supported transition from inpatient care back into the community. Working within a 24/7 therapeutic environment, the Social Worker will form part of a multidisciplinary team delivering individual, family and group-based interventions that promote functional recovery, independence, wellbeing and meaningful community connection. The role contributes to comprehensive assessment, care planning and recovery-focused support, helping young people build confidence, strengthen daily living skills and achieve their personal recovery goals.   Key Responsibilities Deliver discipline-specific social work interventions, including individual, family and group-based therapeutic support for young people accessing the YPARC service. Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, treatment planning and recovery-oriented care that supports young people's mental health, wellbeing and functional recovery. Advocate for and address psychosocial needs including housing, education, employment, financial wellbeing, family relationships, social connection and community participation.   What We Are Looking For We are seeking a passionate and recovery-focused Social Worker who is committed to supporting young people experiencing mental ill-health. You will bring strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary practice and a genuine commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred care.   You will also demonstrate: Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Experience or interest in youth mental health, psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery-oriented practice. Strong assessment, care planning and therapeutic intervention skills. The ability to work collaboratively with young people, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
