Job Details Job Location: Virginia Beach, VA 23459 PWS Title: SOCOM Technical Consultant Location: VA Beach, VA Clearance Type: TOP SECRET/SCI Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Must be able to obtain personnel and vehicle access to military installations. Contractor is responsible for coordinating all necessary access through the local Military Pass and Decal Office. Provide the personnel, management, materials, equipment and facilities (not otherwise provided by the Government) necessary to support USSOCOM in advancing Al, unmanned, and autonomous systems. Work will be performed at the Headquarters level (primary), with travel to operational units, test ranges, industry partners, and academic institutions as required. Provide expert guidance, analysis, and recommendations on emerging technologies, digital modernization efforts, data strategy, cyber readiness, and enterprise IT initiatives to enable informed decision-making by command leadership. Support includes technical assessments, strategy development, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and preparation of executive-level products. Support the command's efforts to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and optimize capability development. The Subject Matter Expert will champion modernization approaches (including open source, agile, cloud/edge compute, and data architectures) and accelerate transition of advanced capabilities into operational use. Ensure requirements for safeguarding classified information and classified materials, for obtaining and verifying personnel security clearances, for verifying security clearances and indoctrination of visitors, for controlling access to restricted areas, for protecting government property, and for the security of automated and non-automated management information systems and data are fulfilled. Qualifications 10—15+ years of relevant experience in DOD technology modernization, IT strategy, cybersecurity, systems engineering, or related domains. Minimum of 15 years (preferred) but not less than 10 years of progressively responsible experience in defense technology development, integration, or related technical leadership roles. Demonstrated senior-level experience with Al/ML, data architecture, unmanned/autonomous systems, cloud and edge computing, and systems integration. Demonstrated experience engaging senior military, interagency, and industry stakeholders; proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and build consensus. Demonstrated knowledge of DoD acquisition rules, cybersecurity protocols, and ethical Al practices. Expert understanding of DoD CIO policy, RMF, Zero Trust, cloud adoption, and enterprise services. Ability to travel and surge in support of operational testing, exercises, and contingencies. Must be TOP SECRET/SCI cleared.
