Description

Job Advert
Are you passionate about IT, problem-solving, and working with a variety of software systems? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are looking for an experienced IT and Software Technician to maintain both our internal and customer-facing software, internal network and IT infrastructure, and hosted customer-facing servers. The position is based at the company’s offices in Wolverhampton, working full-time (40 hours per week). You’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies, solve complex challenges, and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our systems.
You won’t just be another cog in the machine – we’ll provide the support and guidance you need, but we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of their work and become self-sufficient in the role.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We need a tech-savvy problem-solver with relevant experience and a passion for IT. You should have a solid understanding of:

  • Networking: Router configuration, VPNs, firewalls, Remote Desktop.
  • Software Development: High- and low-level programming.
  • Software Installation & Configuration.
  • Apache & PHP Configuration: TLS, reverse proxy, managed domains.
  • Microsoft Office 365 & Hosted Email.
  • Internet Protocols, DNS & Domain Hosting.

Beyond the technical skills, we’re looking for someone who is:

  • Self-motivated & independent – you take initiative and find solutions.
  • Highly organised – you document, maintain standards, and keep systems running smoothly.
  • Adaptable – you’re comfortable working with a mix of proprietary and open-source software, not just Microsoft.
Responsibilities
  • Administering and maintaining our internal and hosted IT infrastructure.
  • Updating and refining proprietary software.
  • Providing IT support to our in-house team.
  • Acting as an escalation point for our technical support help desk.
