Do you want to develop software while simultaneously creating the technical foundation on which our legal tech and AI solutions run securely and reliably in production? Our team develops proprietary applications, automations, and AI solutions on Microsoft Azure. We are looking for an experienced technical professional who combines platform and DevOps expertise with hands-on software development. You will establish robust standards for deployment, security, and operations, while also working on concrete APIs, tools, and AI use cases.

This position is explicitly not a purely operational or administrative role: you will assume responsibility from architecture and development to stable productive use and work closely with our legal professionals and specialist departments.

This is what you can expect

• Development and operation of internal legal tech and AI applications together with our team – from conception to productive use
• 
  
• Development of APIs, automations, data integrations and user-friendly internal tools, preferably with Python and/or TypeScript.
• 
  
• Development of reusable standards for Microsoft Azure, deployment, security, monitoring and the reliable operation of our solutions
• 
  
• Automation of infrastructure and environments using Infrastructure as Code, especially with Bicep or Terraform, as well as maintenance and further development of CI/CD pipelines, for example with GitHub Actions.
• 
  
• Integration of modern AI technologies such as Azure OpenAI, LLMs, RAG applications or agentic systems into concrete use cases – secure, transparent and practical.
• 
  
• Active participation in architectural decisions, analysis of technical malfunctions, and continuous assurance of maintainable, scalable, and resilient applications.
• 
  
• Close collaboration with our legal professionals and specialist departments to translate requirements into pragmatic technical solutions and sustainably reduce friction within the team.

• A completed degree in (business) informatics, engineering or a comparable qualification
• 
  
• Several years of practical experience as a Software Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer or in a comparable hybrid role, as well as responsibility for production systems
• 
  
• Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written.
• 
  
• Good to very good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and experience in building, securing and operating productive cloud applications.
• 
  
• Confident handling of CI/CD, automated build, test and deployment pipelines as well as Infrastructure as Code, ideally with GitHub Actions and Bicep or Terraform
• 
  
• Solid programming experience with Python and/or TypeScript, as well as practical experience in the development and integration of APIs, web applications, or automation solutions.
• 
  
• Knowledge of Azure Security and Cloud Governance, such as Entra ID, RBAC, Key Vault, logging, monitoring and network fundamentals.
• 
  
• Experience with containerized applications or modern Azure deployment models, such as Azure Container Apps, App Service, Functions or AKS
• 
  
• A strong understanding of reliable production operation, including observability, fault analysis, documentation, and backup and restart concepts.
• 
  
• Interest in AI applications and ideally practical experience with Azure OpenAI, LLMs, RAG architectures, prompt engineering or agentic systems.
• 
  
• An independent, structured and pragmatic work style and enjoyment of responsibility in a small team.
