Description

Position: Senior Software Architect Location: Remote (Pakistan) Job Type: Full-time Work Hours: 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM PST Role Overview: We're seeking a Senior Software Architect to design, build, and evolve large-scale backend systems for production use. You'll lead system-level design, implement critical components, and guide other developers in executing high-impact projects. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain backend systems that handle production workloads at scale. Lead architectural improvements and redesigns for APIs, crawlers, data pipelines, and other critical systems. Build new production systems from scratch and ensure long-term maintainability. Break down complex designs into actionable components and delegate tasks effectively. Support live systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability. Collaborate with leadership and senior engineers on technical direction. Mentor developers through code reviews, design discussions, and best practices. Requirements: 10+ years in software engineering or architecture, with a strong backend focus. Proven track record of designing and maintaining production systems used by real users. Experience designing APIs and backend systems at scale. Strong systems thinking: performance, scalability, failure modes, and maintainability. Ability to work autonomously and make high-impact technical decisions. Python experience is a plus. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) for productivity and code quality. Nice to Have: Experience evolving legacy systems. Background in data-heavy systems (feeds, crawlers, analytics pipelines). Infrastructure, scalability, and performance tuning experience. Mentoring mid- and senior-level developers.
