JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Charging Software Architect to design and deliver software architecture for electric vehicle charging systems. The role involves developing and maintaining system functions using UML, model-based engineering, and relevant software tools. The successful candidate will ensure that all software architecture meets functional, quality, and security requirements while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve charging software challenges.
This role is a hybrid position based in Gaydon, Warwickshire, with occasional travel as required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDESSENTIAL:

• Proven experience as a Software Architect within the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of AUTOSAR-based software design.
• Proficiency in UML, MATLAB/Simulink modeling, and model-based engineering.
• Experience in validating control code using HIL and other validation tools.
• Understanding of Powertrain and Electrical systems in electric vehicles.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and networking skills to collaborate across teams and functions.
• Degree in Software Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
• A customer-first mindset, ensuring transparency, dependability, and ease of collaboration.
• Highly driven, results-oriented, and able to work with pace and energy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Hybrid working model with some travel as required.
• This role falls inside IR35.

• Design and develop software architecture for automotive charging systems, ensuring compliance with functional, quality, and security standards.
• Utilize UML and model-based engineering methodologies to create system function representations.
• Work closely with software development teams to ensure architectural concepts are correctly implemented.
• Support issue resolution related to charging software architecture.
• Develop and refine software requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Use Embedded Coder and MISRA C for production code generation.
• Validate control code through software validation tools and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
• Perform additional tasks related to the role as directed by the line manager.
