We are searching for a dynamic and experienced Control System Software Architect to join our dedicated software engineering team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our platform, with a specific focus on the GUI side. Your expertise will contribute to scalability, best practices, and overall technical leadership. This position is in Sandvik’s Turku site which is the main product development and manufacturing center for our Load and Haul equipment.
About the team:
Our cross-functional team focuses on developing Control System Software implementations for underground loaders and trucks. We are a collaborative and diverse group committed to pushing the boundaries of technology in the mining sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the architectural design of the GUI side of the platform, ensuring its scalability and flexibility for future enhancements
  • Provide technical leadership by guiding the development team in best practices, ensuring code quality, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement among team members
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand long-term business goals, translating them into a strategic technical roadmap for the platform, and effectively communicate architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Actively contribute to coding and implementing key components of the platform

Your background and what we find important

  • Proficient in architectural design, showcasing hands-on coding experience for key components using Qt, QML, C++, and Git
  • Demonstrate a proactive and systematic work approach, complemented by excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excels as a collaborative team player in diverse, international work settings
  • Possesses a degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in engineering or from a relevant field
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish is appreciated
