Position Overview:
As the Software Architect, you will help formulate the technical strategy for our ultrasound platforms working on a combination of short-term and long-term initiatives in order to increase our efficiency and effectiveness. You will also drive technology investments and architectural alignments. This role will also identify and drive cross-company initiatives with clearly defined outcomes and metrics. You will oversee the software architecture of all platforms, with ownership of software capability, re-use, quality and reliability. A key contributing decision maker about which technologies to use, how software should be architected, and the technical direction of our ultrasound platforms. This candidate has a passion for breaking down complex problems and identifying solutions that can be implemented by software teams.

Job Description:

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. MS Preferred.
  • 8-10 years of demonstrable experience in software development and systems integration.
  • 3-5 years’ experience successfully leading the deployment of software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented design concepts for embedded devices.
  • Deep knowledge of engineering practices and processes for medical devices
  • Demonstrated experience developing medical device software compliant with IEC 62304
  • Experience with embedded systems preferred.
  • Experience writing software in modern programming languages such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
  • Must be experienced with prevalent operating systems used for medical device applications (Windows/Linux preferred).
  • Experience with real-time software development.
  • Experience in developing and integrating scientific calculations, algorithms, or AI models into a complex software with constraints of performance and reliability.
  • Knowledge of project management, risk management and iterative development process.
  • Experience using Agile scrum methodologies to deliver complex software components in a regulated environment.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, management, suppliers and vendors.
  • Experience with Windows Embedded is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations
