Job Summary GLG builds platforms that empower our teams to make the right calls on their most important decisions. We are building a next-generation infrastructure to transform our industry, and we’re looking for a dedicated professional to help define and manage our software ecosystem. Joining the Enterprise Technology Services organization, you’ll collaborate with procurement, finance, engineering managers, systems architects, and business stakeholders to set and achieve goals that maximize the value of our technology investments. Software Asset & Governance at GLG is a union of financial oversight, operational management, and strategic governance. You will focus on the lifecycle of 3rd party applications and services and the efficiency of our software spend. You will build a deep understanding of our application landscape and develop the processes necessary to optimize license counts for scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with application teams on the evaluation of new tools and provide expert guidance on the design and implementation of our software inventory. Key Responsibilities License Management: Keep track of software license spend and work closely with procurement to evaluate use and suggest license count changes. Enterprise Oversight: Own, manage, and maintain the authoritative list of all software used across the company, ensuring all 3rd party tools are properly accounted for. Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with application owners and stakeholders on renewals and work with finance on budget requirements for the software. ARB Facilitation: Facilitate the Architectural Review Board (ARB), ensuring new application purchases receive scrutiny by a cross-functional group to prevent overlap and/or duplication. Meeting Leadership: Lead and facilitate governance meetings, taking detailed minutes and logging all session decisions. Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with teams to translate operational software challenges into efficient solutions, reducing manual effort and redundant spend. Qualifications 3–5+ years of professional experience in Software Asset Management, IT Procurement, or IT Operations. Expert-level proficiency in managing software inventories, vendor contracts, and license optimization strategies. Demonstrable experience partnering with Finance and Procurement teams to manage software budgets and renewals. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative, operations-focused environment. Strong facilitation skills with a track record of leading cross-functional meetings or committees. Plus: Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Software Asset Management (SAM) tools. Plus: Experience with IT governance frameworks or Architectural Review Board processes. About GLG / Gerson Lehrman Group GLG is the world’s insight network.
