Description

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Profound expertise in Software Asset Management with hands-on experience in managing diverse software portfolios.
  • Proven ability in Engineering License Management, focusing on maximizing the value of software licenses.
  • Proficient in License Server Setup, ensuring seamless integration and efficient utilization of resources.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SAM processes, driving compliance and optimizing licensing costs.
  • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) qualification is highly desirable for this role.
  • ITIL certification to promote efficient IT service management practices in alignment with business needs.
  • Ability to ensure License Compliance, minimizing risks associated with software audits and reviews.
  • Strong understanding of software asset management processes, including procurement, deployment, tracking, and decommissioning.
  • Solid knowledge of software licensing models (per-user, per-device, subscription-based, etc.) and compliance standards.
  • Experience with SAM tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow Software, or similar platforms.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of engineering software applications and licensing models, including CAD, CAM, CAE, and simulation tools.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux system administration, particularly in managing license server systems.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining license server software and hardware such as FlexLM, CodeMeter, Reprise License Manager, BetaLM, LS-DYNA, ALM, TLM, Altair, or similar.
  • Manage Audit & ensure 100% compliance for all Software Audits.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and other service management frameworks.
  • CSAM, ServiceNow CIS, Microsoft SAM, PMP (for Leads) certifications are good to have.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead SAM initiatives to streamline asset management processes and optimize software license usage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current software asset practices and identify improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for license management and compliance across diverse technologies.
  • Guide the organization in software purchasing decisions and vendor negotiations for best pricing and terms.
  • Ensure alignment of SAM practices with business objectives and IT service management frameworks.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to asset management best practices and compliance standards.
  • Provide thought leadership and training to junior SAM consultants and IT staff.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging practices in software asset management.
  • Lead and coordinate SAM-related projects across various stages (planning, execution, monitoring, closure) within the IT service management framework.
  • Ensure that SAM processes are followed consistently, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with ITIL best practices.
  • Liaise with internal teams, vendors, and business units to ensure SAM processes meet organizational goals and timelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive project and process documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk assessments, and project timelines.
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks and issues associated with SAM initiatives and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement in SAM practices, tools, and workflows.
  • Oversee the implementation, configuration, and optimization of SAM tools to support asset and configuration management processes.
  • License Server Setup, Management, Monitoring and Maintenance.
  • Generate and present regular reports on SAM project progress, asset status, and configuration accuracy to senior management.
  • Ensure that software licensing agreements are adhered to, and develop strategies to prevent non-compliance issues, audits, and associated risks.

Manage relationships with software vendors and ensure that contracts and renewals are reviewed, negotiated, and compliant.
