AGILE & COLLABORATION SKILLS:

  • How to write effective user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Participate in SAFe and Scrum ceremonies like PI Planning and Sprint Reviews
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure shared understanding and delivery alignment

TECHNICAL & DESIGN SKILLS:

  • Basics of system design and documentation
  • How to analyze technical requirements and identify risks
  • Use tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or draw.io to create diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with Jira or Azure DevOps

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe Practitioner) are a plus but not mandatory

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Security Clearance: Must be an Australian Citizen with active or eligible security clearance.
  • Work Schedule: This is a managed services role, so flexibility is key. You may be required to work shifts, be on-call, and support after-hours deployments.
  • Location Commitment: Must be willing to work onsite at the client’s office 4 days a week.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

Due to the secure nature of this role, we are seeking Australian Citizens who either hold an active security clearance or are eligible to obtain one. This ensures all team members can handle sensitive information and uphold the highest standards of security.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Junior Software Designer, you’ll:

  • Break down high-level features into clear, testable user stories with guidance from senior team members
  • Participate in backlog refinement sessions and agile ceremonies
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Learn to analyze system interactions, data flows, and dependencies
  • Help create visual models like process flows and architecture diagrams
  • Use tools like Jira or Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage stories and track progress
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the team

This role supports managed services, which means:

  • You may work in rotating shifts to ensure continuous client support.
  • You could be on-call to respond to incidents or assist with after-hours deployments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are key to maintaining seamless operations and client satisfaction
