POSITION SUMMARY:
We are Seeking a dedicated Senior Database Developer will be responsible for optimizing and enhancing database performance within the Statewide Education Data System (SEDS). This role requires expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including advanced concepts like bulk collect, ref cursors, table functions, and handling JSON/XML data within CLOBs. The developer must have extensive experience in performance tuning of stored procedures, materialized views, and complex queries to minimize SGA/PGA/TempSpace usage. Proficiency in indexing strategies, partitioning, and parallel execution is crucial. Working within an Agile SDLC framework, the developer will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate ETL processes, efficient data transformations, and optimized reporting for Texas’s 1200 school districts. Strong documentation, unit testing, and debugging skills using tools like SQL Trace, TKPROF, and AWR/ASH reports are essential.
