What we are looking for
The successful candidate should have a minimum of one to two years of commercial experience alongside a solid academic record.
- Expertise in writing clean code.
- Good communicator and team collaborator.
- Curious about the domain as well as the technology.
- Curiosity around systems and their purpose.
You already work with AI tools daily. Our focus is less about which ones, and more about the judgement you bring to them: framing the problem clearly, giving an agent the context it needs, reading what comes back with a critical eye, and knowing when to start again.
Minimum Requirements;
- A 2.1 or higher in a Computer Science, Engineering, Maths or related numerate discipline, or equivalent demonstrable ability (MSc an advantage)
- A minimum of one to two years of commercial software engineering experience
- Practical programming ability in at least one object-oriented language
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational data modelling
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Clear spoken and written English
Desirable
- Day-to-day use of AI coding assistants or agents on real work
- Building or maintaining data pipelines: ingestion, validation, transformation, scheduling and monitoring
- AWS, particularly the data services (S3, Athena, Redshift, Aurora, Lambda, Glue)
- Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React or C#
- Git, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions
- Building or consuming APIs, and integrating third-party data feeds
