We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer - COBOL to support the enhancement, modernization, and ongoing maintenance of a insurance application. Our system landscape includes long-standing COBOL-based applications as well as newer Java-based solutions. In this role, you will work on both legacy and modern platforms, helping ensure continuity, stability, and future readiness of our business-critical systems. Job Description Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing COBOL applications running on mainframe environments. Participate in the migration or modernization of legacy COBOL systems and related technologies. Ensure the quality and reliability of applications through code reviews, testing, and documentation. Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes in a timely manner. Qualifications Several years of professional experience in software development and maintenance with online and batch programs on mainframe using COBOL, VSE, VSAM and CICS Good knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL) Ability to understand and maintain complex existing codebases. Strong problem-solving skills and structured working style.
