MEET BENEVITY

The world’s coolest companies (and their employees) use Benevity’s technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, the United States and more!
Benevity is looking for a Software Developer in Test (SDT) with a specialization in Performance Testing to join our team. As a key player in our quality strategy, you will be responsible for ensuring our Saas platform can scale to meet peak demand, especially during our busy season. You’ll leverage your strong coding skills and deep understanding of performance testing methodologies to enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of our web-based products and APls. You’ll design, develop, and maintain automated performance test suites, ensuring seamless integration into our Cl/CD pipelines. A champion of best practices in performance engineering, you’ll collaborate closely with developers and QA to drive performance optimizations, proactively identify bottlenecks, and ensure our services can keep up with the required transactions per second (tps).

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design, write, and maintain automated performance test scripts for web applications and APIs to ensure comprehensive test coverage
  • Lead performance testing preparations for our busy season, including load, stress, and scalability testing to ensure our services meet high traffic demands
  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps to integrate performance tests into the build and CI/CD pipelines
  • Analyze performance results, identify bottlenecks, and work with development teams to resolve issues
  • Track and report key performance metrics, including response times, throughput (tps), and resource utilization
  • Create detailed performance test plans and follow a defined test strategy, ensuring alignment with product and engineering goals
  • Drive improvements in performance testing processes, tooling, and efficiency.
