Developer (m/f/d) – with prospects for CTO

We are building Kiki, the AI ​​telephone operator for craft businesses .

Kiki answers calls for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning (HVAC) and roofing companies, understands the calls, and schedules appointments independently. Founded in 2024, it's already in use by paying customers. Our goal: to equip 50,000 trades businesses with AI by 2030.

We are looking for our first technical employee in Germany .

You'll start as a developer, work closely with the founders from the beginning, and take on increasing technical responsibility as we grow. If it's a good fit both professionally and personally, the path to overall technical responsibility as CTO is open.

With us, you write code every day: language flows, integrations, AI features, and everything that makes Kiki better in real customer operations.

The difference to a classic developer job: You are close enough to the customer to see for yourself what works – and have enough responsibility to improve it directly.

Your tasks

• You develop and deploy features yourself – from the first commit to production.
• You build interfaces to craftsman software and external systems.
• You will improve our voice and AI workflows: prompts, function calling, tool use, and error handling in real phone calls.
• You listen to real customer calls, identify where Kiki is failing, and fix the cause.
• Through code reviews, tests, and thorough monitoring, you ensure that new features function reliably in everyday use.
• As the team grows, you will increasingly help shape our technical architecture and development methods.

You should bring this with you

• At least 1-2 years of experience in productive software development.
• Python and/or SQL are part of your daily routine; you have practical experience with APIs and deployments.
• You have already worked with LLMs – for example, with prompt engineering, function calling, tool use, or your own AI workflows. Professionally or in your own projects.
• REST APIs and webhooks are tools for you, not obstacles. You can pragmatically connect different systems.
• You don't just want to process tickets, you want to understand how your code actually works for the customer.
• You enjoy direct customer contact.
• You speak very good German .

What you have already built and solved is more important to us than the exact technologies listed on your resume.

CTO Perspective:

You won't be joining a ready-made engineering team, but rather helping to build one from the ground up. As Kiki grows, so will your responsibilities – from individual features and architectural decisions to overall technical responsibility.

. We are currently a team of four. You will work directly with the two founders every day. We make decisions today – not next quarter.

Direct impact on the product:

With us, there are no five levels of approval between a customer problem and your fix. You can hear a problematic call in the morning and deploy the improvement the same day.

Annual salary of €55,000–€70,000

depending on experience and area of ​​responsibility.
