AI-First. Future-Driven. Human-Centered.

At OpenText, AI is at the heart of everything we do—powering innovation, transforming work, and empowering digital knowledge workers. We are hiring talent AI can't replace to help us shape the future of information management. Join us.

OpenText™ Cloud Platform (OCP) is our next-generation Information Management as a Service platform that enables development and deployment of multi-tenant SaaS applications. We are looking for a motivated Software Developer with an interest in full stack and AI development to join our platform development team.

This position is based in the OpenText office in Richmond Hill, Canada.

Your Impact:

We are looking for an individual with a foundational understanding of software development and a strong desire to build skills in full stack, cloud, and AI development. You are eager to learn and contribute within a supportive team of experienced developers while helping develop scalable, secure, and intelligent cloud solutions.

Working under the guidance of senior team members and collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, Software Developers, and Cloud Operations teams, you will contribute to the development of AI capabilities, modern user experiences, robust backend services, and cloud infrastructure solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to a highly scalable, reliable, and intelligent SaaS platform.

What the role offers:

  • Learning about business, product, and technical challenges with a curious and analytical mindset.
  • Assisting in the implementation of full stack and AI-driven software components within our cloud platform.
  • Contributing to the design, deployment, automation, and management of infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Assisting with the maintenance, enhancement, and troubleshooting of Terraform scripts used for cloud infrastructure provisioning and automation.
  • Actively participating in problem-solving and contributing to solutions as part of a collaborative development team.
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary Agile team to deliver on team goals and the product roadmap.
  • Developing and supporting backend services, APIs, and microservices that power cloud-native applications.
  • Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation initiatives.
  • Collaborating with team members across different geographies.
  • Learning and applying cloud security, scalability, reliability, and observability best practices.

What you need to succeed:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Foundational knowledge and practical experience with React or Angular, Java (Spring Boot), and Python for application development.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and REST API development principles.
  • Exposure to frontend and backend development using React/Angular, Spring Boot, and testing frameworks such as JUnit.
  • Interest in or academic exposure to AI concepts, with a desire to work with technologies such as LangChain, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and core cloud services.
  • Understanding of designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure on GCP.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Terraform scripts, with the ability to review, modify, and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure configurations.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and cloud automation practices.
  • Basic understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, or similar technologies.
  • Exposure to cloud provisioning and configuration management tools such as Ansible is an asset.
  • A focus on writing clean, testable code and a growing understanding of scalability, performance, reliability, and security principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
