PAY RANGE

$140,700 - $178,392 Annually for the SES.2 level
$168,780 - $214,032 Annually for the SES.3 level

Job Description
We have an opening for a Software Developer. You will be a member of a software development and directory services team that designs, develops and supports an identity and account management system. This is a multi-disciplinary team that works the full stack of application development, deployment, operations, and support. This position is in the Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Division within the Computing Directorate, in support of LivIT and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.
This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AT THE SES.3 LEVEL

  • Advanced experience developing software with object-oriented languages and frameworks and web-based user interfaces
  • Experience providing innovative approaches and applying new technologies to broadly defined tasks and projects.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction while leveraging broad experience in applying effective analytical and problem-solving skills to address moderately complex challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS WE DESIRE

  • Experience with cloud computing technologies, Kubernetes, and containerization
  • Experience with Public Key infrastructure
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration, Azure, Identity Manager, and Management Console plugin development

Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Proficient experience developing software with object-oriented languages such as C# or Java and utilizing frameworks such as .NET.
  • Proficient experience implementing web-based user interfaces using a JavaScript framework such as Angular or React
  • Comprehensive skills in the software project life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, integration, test and deployment as well as tools such as Jira, BitBucket and Jenkins.
  • Broad experience troubleshooting software issues and providing technical support
  • Ability to effectively manage concurrent technical tasks with competing priorities and meet deadlines that are important to project success.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to prepare, present, and document technical information
Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex system and process analysis efforts to provide original solutions to customers’ complex problems.
  • Develop complex cloud-based software solution.
