Software Developer (PHP, Laravel, MySQL) – Mid-Level Location: Bury (1 day hybrid after probation) Working Hours: Core hours 9:30am – 2:30pm Sponsorship: Not available Overview As a Software Developer (PHP, Laravel, MySQL), you will be working on the company’s in-house systems, supporting a range of live, business-critical applications across CRM, order processing, logistics, and customer management. Initially, you will focus on bug fixing, maintenance, and day-to-day support, building a strong understanding of how the systems operate. Over time, you will become more involved in enhancements, redevelopment, and project-based work, helping to improve and evolve key parts of the platform. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to support ongoing system improvements and contribute to the long-term development of our internal applications. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain applications using PHP and Laravel Work with MySQL databases (queries, optimisation) Support light frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Contribute to components built in Vue.js Develop and integrate REST APIs Handle bug fixing and issue resolution within live systems Support ongoing system improvements and redevelopment of existing modules Gradually take ownership of project-based enhancements as familiarity with systems grows Work across multiple internal platforms, balancing reactive and planned work Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have solid experience working with PHP, Laravel, and MySQL within a commercial environment, with exposure to live production systems. You will be confident working on backend functionality, with the ability to support light frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience or exposure to Vue.js would be beneficial. You should be comfortable working in a role that involves both day-to-day support and longer-term improvements, with a practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and develop.
