This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Developer in the United States. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the modernization of enterprise financial systems supporting large-scale operations. You will develop, deploy, and maintain secure, cloud-hosted microservices in a fast-paced, agile environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready software. The position emphasizes best practices in secure coding, cloud-native development, and continuous integration and deployment, ensuring high-quality and reliable software solutions. You will work with modern technologies and frameworks to solve complex problems while adhering to rigorous security and compliance standards, supporting a mission-critical system that serves millions of users. Accountabilities: Design, develop, test, and deploy software components that align with modernization objectives. Write clean, efficient, and secure code in Java and PL/SQL following Zero Trust Architecture principles and development standards. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement. Collaborate with product owners, testers, security engineers, and other team members to ensure timely, quality software delivery. Develop and maintain microservices using Spring Boot framework and implement RESTful APIs in a service-oriented architecture. Integrate with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins for automated deployment. Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and security testing, and participate in code reviews. Work within secure, cloud-hosted environments with Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) systems. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, preferably with enterprise applications. Proficiency in Java, PL/SQL, and object-oriented programming principles. Experience with Spring Boot, microservices, RESTful APIs, and service-oriented architecture. Knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP guidelines, and NIST SP 800-218 standards. Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing frameworks (JUnit), and automated testing tools (Selenium). Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure; knowledge of FedRAMP IL5 environments is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in Agile teams. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust / IT II Security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degrees or professional certifications in software development. Security+ CE/IAT Level II certification. Experience in government financial systems, defense contracting, or related environments. Knowledge of DFAS operations, military retirement, and annuity systems. Familiarity with additional cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), DevSecOps, and database optimization techniques. Experience with federal compliance frameworks such as FISMA and FedRAMP.
