Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with project managers, UI/UX designers, and frontend developers to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Develop robust backend services using Spring and Hibernate frameworks, with PostgreSQL as the primary database.
• Design and implement high-performance, secure, and maintainable APIs for internal systems and external integrations.
• Take technical ownership of backend components for key client projects, including mortgage application systems, CRM platforms, and quotation tools for financial services clients.
• Build and maintain data synchronisation pipelines between Shopify and custom-built applications, ensuring bidirectional data flow and system integrity.
• Deploy and manage backend systems on AWS infrastructure, applying DevOps best practices for CI/CD, scalability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in staging and production environments, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes.
• Contribute to the architecture and design discussions of new platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and long-term maintainability.
• Ensure code quality through regular peer reviews, unit testing, and adherence to development standards.
• Assist in onboarding junior developers or interns, offering guidance and code-level mentoring when required.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and propose improvements to tools, workflows, and development methodologies to support team efficiency.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong understanding of relational database design and usage, particularly with PostgreSQL.
• Experience deploying and maintaining systems on AWS.
• Familiarity with integrating frontend components and designing APIs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a team-based development environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a structured and timely manner.
