SUBJECT: Software DeveloperREPORTS TO: Senior Software DeveloperLOCATION: FULL IN-PERSON, NOT REMOTE ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: The Information Technology department is seeking a seasoned .NET Developer with a proven track record of managing projects, development timelines, and collaboratively working with various stakeholders to design and implement business applications. The ideal candidate will assist the Senior Software Developer with developing, maintaining, and enhancing new or existing applications. The candidate must be able to communicate with end users, IT technical staff, and managers to design and deliver the intended product. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities) 1.
Responsible for all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering and analysis, design and documentation, effective programming, testing and integration, and maintenance and troubleshooting of developed applications.2. Responsible for designing and developing web applications, ensuring strong optimization and functionality.3. Responsible for developing secure database-driven Web applications for safe, rapid, and real-time information sharing.4. Responsible for designing and implementing user-driven templates, databases, and interfaces for ease of use.5.
Responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing Web applications, including, but not limited to, hardware and software upgrades.6. Responsible for developing reports using complex data sets for meaningful insights and informed decision-making.7. Responsible for maintaining databases and completing complex ad hoc data requests.8. 9.
Understands the necessity of and contributes to coding standards, but most importantly, is willing to learn and to teach.10. Performance of all other job-related duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.2.
Three (3+) years of experience in developing real-world web applications and REST APIs using ASP.NET, VB.NET, and MS Visual Studio.3. Three (3+) years of experience working with Database Design, SQL Server, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, and Functions.4. Strong skills in Object-Oriented design, Web Forms, VB.NET, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, LINQ, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.5. Strong skills in database structures, SQL, Microsoft Access, and Query Optimization.6.
Advanced proficiency in database management, as evidenced by: (a) extensive experience and proficiency in utilizing MSSQL for effective database management; (b) Proven ability to navigate and manipulate databases to extract, analyze, and interpret student and staff data accurately.7. Strong understanding of educational environments, including student and staff data relationships.8. Proven verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data findings in a clear and understandable manner with various stakeholders across the district9. Strong attention to detail and organization skills.10.
Proven ability to work independently and creatively with little or no supervision.11. Proven ability to efficiently manage multiple ongoing projects and meet deadlines.12. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related field.2.
SQL Server Management Studio certification.3. Five (5+) years of experience in developing real-world web applications and REST APIs using ASP.NET, VB.NET, and MS Visual Studio.4. Five (5+) years of experience working with Database Design, SQL Server, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, and Functions.5. Experience in developing secure Web applications using LDAP.
WORK YEAR, WORK DAY: This is a full-year (52 weeks) position. The typical workday is 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m., with additional hours required to fulfill position responsibilities.
