Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite full time at the GM Global Technical Center - Estes Engineering Center.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2-year Associate Degree or experience in related field, OR Equivalent Military experience in relevant field will also be considered.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in wiring harness and panel assembly.
  • Proficient in reading vehicle electrical schematics.
  • Experience in supporting root cause analysis for both hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of various automotive connectors, terminals, locks, and experience in crimping tools used by GM.
  • Soldering skills at the board level, as well as for connectors and harnesses.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.), SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple functions and cultures.
  • Strong communication skills, including effective collaboration and cross-cultural communication, are also essential.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $87,000 - $134,300 . Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain new and existing HIL/Electrical system/Infotainment subsystem benches.
  • Design and construct harnesses for test benches and test vehicles.
  • Resolve issues related to bench wiring, hardware updates, and software/calibration flashing.
  • Verify and validate that the benches are operational and configured without hardware or instrumentation issues.
  • Respond to user requests to set up benches according to testing requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (HIL AE, HIL Simulation, CIE, TIE & IT) and act as a liaison for unresolved issues.
  • Maximize runtime on all assets and document work appropriately.
  • Assist with key program events for subsystem/system level tests.
  • Identify root causes of ECU and instrumentation issues.
  • Update bench hardware and module software as required.
  • Support the infrastructure for remote bench testing, including metrics and scheduling.
  • Purchase lab materials as needed.
  • Decommission obsolete and out-of-production benches, equipment, and spare parts as necessary.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities between suppliers, GM warehouse, docks, and GM test regions.
  • Create shippers in the shipping system and ensure packaging meets regional shipment guidelines.
  • Collaborate with dock personnel to arrange shipments and select carriers.
  • Reconcile and update all order information.
