Job Title Software Development Engineer 2 - ABAP Role Overview As an SAP ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) Developer, the role focuses on building internal technical expertise and standardizing development capabilities across key Amadeus Billing and Ordering areas powered by SAP BRIM (Billing and Revenue Innovation Management), including Subscription Order Management (SOM), Convergent Charging (CC), and Convergent Invoicing (CI). You will translate business and functional requirements into reliable, high‑quality technical solutions—delivering ABAP developments, enhancements, interfaces, forms, and services that integrate seamlessly within the Ordering and Billing solution landscape. Summary of the role We are looking for an experienced ABAP developer (typically ~7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent proficiency). Your main responsibilities Design, build, and document SAP ABAP RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) objects and services across Ordering and Billing (BRIM SOM/CC/CI), including technical specifications and other technical documentation. Ensure solution quality by performing peer code reviews, unit and integration testing, and troubleshooting; follow Development and Quality standards and established best practices. Collaborate with functional teams to translate requirements into scalable integration solutions using IDocs (Intermediate Documents), ALE (Application Link Enabling), RFCs (Remote Function Calls), BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces), and third‑party integrations; prioritize work and provide clear status updates. Support knowledge sharing and guidance by mentoring junior colleagues, providing technical direction when needed, and engaging in continuous learning and self‑improvement. Deliver outcomes effectively, managing complex requirements and providing timely, effective resolutions; when business needs require, be open to occasional schedule flexibility with advance notice. About the ideal candidate ABAP expertise: Significant experience (around 7+ years or equivalent proficiency) on ABAP 7.4, including SAPscript, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, ALV (ABAP List Viewer) reports, Workflow, LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench), Enhancements, and other ABAP developments for SAP functional areas. Integration & automation: Practical experience implementing SAP integrations with IDocs, ALE, RFCs, BAPIs, and related third‑party solutions; experience with automation tools and practices. Documentation & communication: Produce clear specifications, HLD (High Level Design) documents, user guides, interface documentation, and configuration details; communicate clearly in writing and verbally; deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. Ways of working: Work effectively both independently and in a team, including within distributed teams; collaborate respectfully with colleagues and partners and escalate risks proactively.
