Key job responsibilities * You will solve ambiguous business problems and map them to elegant technical solutions * You will use object-oriented concepts, algorithms and data structures to build systems at Amazon scale * You will design, launch, and re-architect multi-tier systems with large amounts of data * You will quickly adapt to fast-paced development environment with bias towards simple and extensible code Key job responsibilities * You will solve ambiguous business problems and map them to elegant technical solutions * You will use object-oriented concepts, algorithms and data structures to build systems at Amazon scale * You will design, launch, and re-architect multi-tier systems with large amounts of data * You will quickly adapt to fast-paced development environment with bias towards simple and extensible code About the team Team owns the foundational framework and services involved in end to end publishing of books from initial negotiation to paying royalties. The primary goal of the team is to provide the best experience to authors in publishing books with Amazon. The foundational systems owned by the team helps improve the quality and efficiency of publishing books. Team's technical ownership areas include resilient distributed systems, generative AI agentic workflows, secure customer facing applications and data warehousing solutions. The team balances the delivery of advanced new solutions with continuous improvement to existing software. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
