CSEngineering is looking for a proficient and energetic Software Development Engineer with specialized experience in cloud migration. The ideal candidate should thrive in dynamic environments, quickly grasping and applying new software tools, cloud architectures, and DevSecOps practices to keep pace with our client’s modernization goals.
The candidate will tackle complex problems within system and architectural boundaries and work closely with customers to validate feature requirements, ensuring the highest level of customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving needs of our Department of Defense (DoD) client.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Secret or Top-Secret clearance.

• 5 years of professional application development experience in a modern software development role.
• Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience as software development engineer
• Familiarity with full-stack development and basic knowledge of computer science fundamentals like object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience in a customer-facing role, providing technical evaluations
• Familiarity with Agile environments and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
• Basic understanding of SOLID Principles and programming fundamentals
• Experience with REST APIs and single-page applications.
• Knowledge of server (microservice) and monolith architectures
• Proficiency in unit and integration testing
• Must be a US Citizen.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic understanding of application instrumentation and monitoring systems
• Awareness of cloud and data storage design patterns
• Cloud and DevOps certifications
• A degree in Computer Science or related field
• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.

• Take ownership of product features from backlog to support and maintenance
• Apply engineering best practices throughout all phases of a project lifecycle, including daily stand-ups, code reviews, source code management, deployment processes, and production code support
• Communicate effectively with users, engineers, and management to translate requirements into deployable software
• Actively participate in engineering meetings and cross-team mentoring activities
• Participate in an On-Call rotation for production platform support
• Negotiate trade-offs between software quality and time to market
• Travel to support customers in air-gapped environments.
