You will design, develop, and evolve cloud-native tax compliance and e-invoicing solutions that operate at global scale. Within the Avalara e-Invoicing and Live Reporting (ELR) platform, you will contribute to intelligent, data-driven capabilities that improve compliance accuracy, automation, insight generation, and operational efficiency for customers. Design and build scalable, resilient services that support high-volume regulatory transactions. Contribute to AI-enabled product capabilities that improve automation, validation accuracy, document processing, anomaly detection, and workflow efficiency. Identify opportunities where AI can improve customer experience, compliance confidence, or processing speed. Partner with Product, Data, and senior engineers to translate requirements into secure and reliable implementations. Apply AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle to improve speed, quality, and documentation. Simplify complex regulatory and technical requirements into maintainable, well-structured solutions. Continuously build your AI fluency and apply new learnings to improve engineering outcomes. Quais serão as suas responsabilidades Deliver high-quality, production-ready software supporting global electronic invoicing and live reporting workflows. Implement APIs and services capable of handling high-throughput, compliance-critical operations. Contribute to building and integrating AI-driven components within the ELR platform. Participate in evaluating AI tools and models, considering accuracy, performance, compliance, and security. Follow responsible AI and data governance standards in all implementations. Use AI copilots and automation tools to improve development efficiency, test coverage, debugging, and documentation quality. Translate evolving regulatory requirements into scalable technical implementations. Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to improve system quality and reliability. Continuously improve existing components to enhance scalability, performance, and maintainability. Share AI best practices and contribute to a culture of continuous learning. O que precisa possuir para ser bem sucedido B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience. Experience with backend and/or frontend technologies (e.g., Go, React, or similar frameworks). Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle). Experience deploying services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments. AI Expectations: Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve engineering productivity and quality. Ability to contribute to AI-enabled product features. Understanding of responsible AI usage and data security principles.
