Software Development Engineer in Test Hybrid, Bangalore or Pune JOB OVERVIEW We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with expertise in automation testing, Java, leading automation tools (including Selenium and Playwright), Cucumber, and API testing. The ideal candidate will have proven experience designing, developing, and executing automated tests within a CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins. Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles is essential for success in this role. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Java, and industry-leading tools like Selenium, Playwright, and Cucumber (BDD). Develop and execute API automated tests using tools such as RestAssured, Postman, or equivalent. Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to define test strategies and ensure full coverage. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. Maintain test data, perform regression testing, and analyze test results to identify issues. Apply OOP principles to create maintainable and scalable test solutions. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Troubleshoot and optimize automation scripts and frameworks. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience in test automation (minimum 3+ years preferred). Proficiency in Java with a strong understanding of OOP principles. Strong hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, and Cucumber (BDD). Proven API testing experience (REST/SOAP) including automation with tools such as RestAssured. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins. Strong knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git). Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES ISTQB Certification or equivalent software testing certification. Knowledge of AI concepts and understanding of AI integration. Performance testing experience (e.g., JMeter, Gatling). Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., Selenium Grid, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs). Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
