Description

JOBY OVERVIEW

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.

OVERVIEW

For this role you will be joining the Systems Test team at Joby to focus on Software Development for several test assets. You will be working with a highly-skilled and knowledgeable team of go-getters including hardware engineers, software engineers, technicians and subject matter experts across the company.
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer with experience with National Instruments (NI) Software (LabVIEW, VeriStand) and hardware (PXI, cRIO etc…), python scripting and test automation. The position will support several test sites in Santa Cruz, Marina and San Carlos. The primary responsibilities for this role will include developing and maintaining test software, script and infrastructure in LabVIEW, Veristand and Python. You will work with various engineering teams at Joby Aviation (including design, systems, software, simulation, certification, and more). The Software Development Engineer will develop and execute appropriate strategies that allow the company and team to achieve milestones on schedule and meet quality and financial requirements. This role will operate in a fast-paced, demanding, and rewarding environment with very high expectations for individual contribution. This position demands the ability to multi-task, prioritize tasking based on requirements and track/manage many different (yet similar) integration efforts at once.
