SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER – VANCOUVER (ONSITE)

Location: Vancouver, BC
Contract Length: 10 months (with potential for extension)
Are you ready to make an impact on mission-critical infrastructure while expanding your coding expertise across diverse technologies? Our client—a leading global enterprise—is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer to join their onsite team in Vancouver.
As part of a collaborative, fast-paced development group, you’ll contribute to the redesign and replacement of legacy applications, support the deprecation of company-wide libraries, and provide key assistance in monthly release engineering cycles. The role also involves implementing essential features and security enhancements, helping shape future-ready software systems.

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Coding: Perl, C/C++, Java
• Other technologies: Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, HTML, UNIX/Linux
• Bonus: Experience working with large, complex systems.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Must have 2–5 years of relevant hands-on software development experience.

• Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and deploy replacement solutions for legacy applications.
• Support the deprecation of outdated libraries across the organization.
• Assist with monthly release engineering processes.
• Implement new functionality and strengthen security across software platforms.
• Document processes and maintain clean, organized development records.
