NOTICE: For Privacy Policy please review here Job Responsibilities: Job Title Software Engineer Department Software Development Reports To Software Development Lead MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB The Software Engineer is responsible for developing information systems by studying operations, designing and developing software components, and collaborating with others in a software development team to ensure that solutions are maintainable, scalable, and tested. MAIN DUTIES The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership of a Software Engineer: Study information needs, systems flow, data usage, and work processes to formulate solutions Collaborate with Product Management and UX personnel to understand priorities and ensure designs are refined through user testing Document and demonstrate proposed solutions Collaborate in analysis, problem definition, requirements, and solution design under the direction of senior software development team members Implement solutions following the software development lifecycle Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations Protect operations by keeping information confidential Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing work in a timely fashion REQUIREMENTS Education Level Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience Experience Demonstrable professional experience implementing complex features in large software systems, following the software development lifecycle Experience shipping code in an agile SDLC Able to apply continuous integration, develops, and automated testing concepts Knowledge of paradigms, languages, and trends in the relevant domain Other relevant skills Familiarity with design patterns Familiarity with asynchronous programming, queuing, cacheing, logging, security, and persistence Awareness of algorithms, big O complexity, and the CAP theorem Able to add value to team discussions, prevent views persuasively with rational justifications, and solve disagreements constructively Additional Job Details: Welocalize is a leading technology-enabled provider of translation, localization, and AI-driven content solutions, helping businesses communicate, innovate, and grow globally.
