Software Development Engineering Manager Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Development Engineering Manager to join the B-52H Software Development team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position will focus on supporting the Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers (MS&B) division within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. This position will manage a team of software engineers that are responsible for software development activities of the on-aircraft software and ground software used on or with the B-52H Bomber. In addition to production software, this management position will include oversight of research and development, as well as internal applications development, programs that are relevant to the platform. Position Responsibilities: Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes Manages, develops and motivates employees Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): 5+ years of experience in software engineering 1+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering activities Experience with software architecture and software implementation Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science Degree (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree Experience in a leadership role that moves people to act, motivates and inspires excellence and innovation Experience in solving complex issues Experience in demonstrating openness and honesty, behaving consistently, and acting in accordance with moral, ethical, professional, and organizational guidelines Experience with mentoring, coaching, and growing software engineering teams Experience working in embedded software engineering aerospace environments Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
