R&D SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT INTERN (AI & AUGMENTED REALITY)

We are an Augmented Reality company based in Auckland, New Zealand, looking for a software development intern who shares our passion for AR and emerging technologies.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience with developing computer vision models.
  • Experience building or integrating REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of AR development with Unity.
  • Exposure to human-computer interaction (HCI) principles.
  • Familiarity with 2D/3D skeletal animation workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Prototype AI-driven applications focused on detecting, animating, and interacting with hand-drawn art.
  • Build real-time AR experiences using Unity, ARKit/ARCore, or similar platforms.
  • Research and test models for pose estimation, image segmentation, and generative animation.
  • Gain hands-on experience with computer vision: detection, segmentation, and rigging.
  • Use Python, OpenCV, PyTorch, and related tools to build and train models.
  • Collaborate with a small, dynamic team, contributing ideas that help shape the product’s direction.
  • Translate wireframes and creative concepts into functional systems.
  • Solve complex and creative challenges with autonomy.
