ABOUT THE ROLE

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Development Manager to oversee the development and testing of our telecommunications billing software. You’ll manage development and testing leads, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide technical direction throughout the SDLC. Additionally, you’ll help establish best practices and standards to ensure software functionality, performance, and reliability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate an inspiring environment that encourages continuous learning and fosters high-performing teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and set performance objectives for Development and Testing teams.
  • Optimize team allocations through capacity planning, work schedules, and utilization tracking.
  • Lead succession planning, recruiting, and onboarding of Tech Leads, Software Engineers, Test Leads, and Test Engineers.
  • Advocate for best practices in software development to achieve high quality.
  • Work closely with cross-functional delivery teams to understand customer and business requirements.
  • Provide guidance to tech leads and test leads, ensuring alignment with development and quality goals.
  • Represent the Development and Testing teams at delivery leadership meetings.
  • Contribute to the formulation of product and technical roadmaps.
  • Define and implement quality standards and best practices for functional, performant, and reliable solutions.
  • Oversee the Test Strategy, including defining objectives, planning, execution, coverage, reporting, risk management, and tool usage.
  • Ensure a commercial/ROI approach to testing to improve revenue, margin, and speed to market.
  • Assist with incident management for swift response and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Help software engineers with problem identification, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software development and testing.Proactively address technical and quality-related risks throughout the software development lifecycle.
