Come challenge yourself in our team-oriented atmosphere, and watch yourself grow with one of the fastest growing areas of the Amazon e-commerce services platform.Key job responsibilities• Hire, motivate, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, providing them with appropriate opportunities to succeed in their career objectives.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work effectively with product managers and software engineers on other Commerce Platform teams to ensure the successful delivery of features.• Ensure timely execution of key organizational automation goals and customer launches by removing blockers and reducing execution risks.• Work closely with the leadership team to provide input on OP1, roadmaps, and strategic discussions.• Be deeply involved with engineers to architect and develop the best technical designs and approaches.• Build operational excellence to reduce lead times and maintain the operations of critical services.• Clearly communicate technical decisions and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of engineering experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
