Description

About this job

Software & DevOps Cloud Engineer (all genders)

Locations: Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Stuttgart

Writing YAML is important, but we know your true passion lies in the code. At Exxeta, we live the "You build it, you run it" principle in its purest form. We're looking for developers who design robust architectures, take ownership of deploying them to the cloud, and operate them there. At the same time, we're on the cusp of a new era: agentic engineering. We actively use AI agents, LLMs, and modern coding assistants to multiply our impact—from code generation and automated testing to error analysis in production. If you want to combine software engineering, cloud operations, and AI-powered workflows, this is your playground.

What awaits you?

  • You develop scalable backend and microservices in Java or C# (e.g., with Spring Boot, ASP.NET Core, etc.). You build the product itself – not just the pipelines.
  • You use and integrate AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to minimize boilerplate code, accelerate refactorings, and create smart automations for everyday development.
  • You are responsible for the entire lifecycle of your services – from the initial commit through automation in the CI/CD pipeline (e.g., Azure DevOps) to deployment in Kubernetes, AWS or Azure and subsequent operation.
  • You provision the required cloud infrastructure for your services yourself – e.g. via Terraform or Bicep.

What do we expect from you?

  • Personal background: You have a completed IT degree or comparable training and your heart beats for software development.
  • Development expertise: You are essentially a software engineer and fluent in Java. You are familiar with modern architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven).
  • Cloud & Ops Mindset: Docker and Kubernetes are standard tools for you. You have experience with how code behaves in distributed systems and know how to read metrics and traces.
  • AI know-how: You work productively with coding agents, consciously delegate tasks and ensure reliable results – with test signals in the process, a critical comparison with the specification and a step-by-step controlled expansion of autonomy.
  • On the road: You are ready to travel and flexible to advise our customers on-site in the Karlsruhe, Mannheim and Stuttgart region.
  • Let's talk: You speak fluent German and English - great, then you'll find your way around Exxeta perfectly.
